Super Antsy

Just want to get on the road. Trying to finish things up but not making much headway. Went to the CPA and got more bad news on taxes. He was suppose to call me by Friday with some figues..did not. Haven’t heard from the attorney as I sent the signed inventory in 10 days ago to try an expedite getting the taxes paid to the state , the real estate agent was to come by last week, he didn’t. Geez!!

Haven’t felt good for a couple of weeks but still packing and starting to load the trailer. Tried to take a mirror down and think I bent a screw. Knew I needed help but….

Let see, the good stuff:  weather has been great. Harvest is starting. Small flocks of robins went through a few days ago. All my family is doing fine. Plans are in place for me and a couple of cousins to meet in January in Las Vegas for birthdays and reunion.

Putting what the poor folks who lost so much from Ike in perspective, things are not bad at all.  I do keep them in my thoughts and prayers as they rebuild their lives.

Disappearing Act

Once again the Gremlins are at work. I had some deposits slips from the bank that is strictly for the Farm sitting on the dinning room table. At one point in time I cleared the table off and poof! cannot find hide nor hair of those slips. Now, you say, why worry about a few deposits slips. Well, because it was about a 40 mile round trip to get them. And repeating that trip anytime soon is not on my list of things to do. LOL I had other business at the bank and remembered while there I needed the slips Surely they will pop up when I am not looking for them.

Boston won the NBA championship and Tiger won the U.S. Open.  Now, into basketball withdrawal. Oh, wait, there is a game tonight with the LNBA with the San Antonio women playing Atlanta.

It stormed again last night. The winds gusted fairly strong as it moved through the area and we were under another tornado warning. I don’t believe the winds hit 60 mph but they did just a few miles west of us. I should have mowed yesterday but maybe it will be dry enough by tomorrow to get it done.

The back of Sweet Momma is packed except for my large duffle bag. Sure hope we do not run into any rain on the way to Moore, OK. Will get rid of some weight there as taking tools my son had pulled from Dad’s work bench and did not have room for in his vehicle.

Today will finish up the To Do list for the most part that I wanted done before leaving on my Texas trip.

Best get at it.

‘Bout an hour later:  Found the deposit slips right where I put them. The ol’ brain cell (singular  for a reason) finally kicked in.

Did the Fremont Dinner Trail on Saturday evening and it was fun. The food was good and the 40’s decor and music really great. They apologized for the weather as it was raining but for me that was great. The only photo I have of me my eyes were closed. drats!

We also hit a few antiques shops and that was fun also. Found a few items I would have liked to get but do not need anything else to pack and move. Had I loved them three time, would have gotten them anyway. A friend of mine taught me that little trick, you have to love something three times before you shell out the cash.

Back to the clearing out process.

Bits and Pieces

Packed up some of my kitchens items today. I had saved the original boxes for this point in time. They are stacked on the back porch.

I’ve been mulling over just how to proceed with this move. My friend in Hunt, Texas is getting married next month (a private affair) but throwing a Texas shindig the end of June. If I don’t take any road trip breaks (and who can afford the gas) before then, may load up Sweet Momma with some of my stuff and head down. I can rent a storage unit and pull stuff out of a barn where it has been stored by the coast and at least have that much done. But will continue to think about it and see what just “pops up” as the best thing to do. Time will tell.

Sunny But Cool

Woke up to a sunny day but cool. Had planned on an auction today but right now don’t think I will go. My nephew is returning the mower this a.m. Had planned on doing it yesterday but was cold and rainy so he decided to wait until this morning. The auction is outside and should be up to 60 by then but still a north chilly breeze.

The NBA playoffs start at noon so may just take a day and relax. I worked on the two tax folders that will need to go to the CPA last night. Think I have them under control. Will finish up one spreadsheet this weekend and get the second one started. This is not a fun thing to do.

Finish the last of the clothes the first of the week  then start on the next closet project.
