Hi Susan, Thanks so much for your kind words. It is still tough to comprehend and, of course, being there for my daughter here in San Antonio. I check up on the boys, too, as they can use support whether they know it or not.

I haven't visited in a while, so just saw this post about your ex-husband. I'm so sorry. I'm glad your children were able to get there and be with you.

Rain, hmmmm, seems I have heard of it before. I believe it is wet and falls from the sky! Well, we did have a thunderstorm a couple of days ago which was nice but certainly need more around here.

What fun on the fruit wines you rescued. I'd love one for sure.

The fishing trip was cool. What a trooper Nicki is. We fished from the old Copano Bridge from 7 p.m. until midnight. If we had not run out of bait would still be there. LOL We also fished from the Island Queen (an old ferry boat) and had a blast. She was using that particular rod and reel like a pro at the end of the fishing time.

Do you know what the name of the Parks and Wildlife fellow is? A couple that I hang with in Rockport are biologists. One is retired from Parks & Wildlife and his better half still works for them.

Thanks for stopping by Linda.

What a happy evening I'm having - it's raining! RAINING, I tell you! We may have had an inch or two by now. And I'm tucked in just making the rounds and seeing who's been up to what.

Glad to hear your wine recommendations. I know the Yellow Tail but hadn't heard of Vinho Verde. I'm not much of a wine drinker but prefer white when I do. I may give them a try. I've some bottles of Texas fruit wine rescued from a winery across Galveston Bay, in Oak Island, after Ike. It's fun, because all the labels washed off and there's no way of telling until you uncork it what you have. There's scuppernong, and wild cherry, and pear - all native fruit.
If you ever have a hankering for a bottle, just for souvenir purposes if nothing else, let me know and we can arrange it.

How did your fishing trip go? It's been slow around here. Drum and reds are showing up, but the specks have been slow - that's what I'm told, anyhow. There's a parks and wildlife fellow who lives across from Mom, and he's always running in and out with poles and nets on his days off. The man must fish hours!

Hope all's well. Just think - just about three months and it'll cool off!

Hi Linda,

Thanks for stopping by! It has been busy here and I keep putting off my trip to NE..wonder why.

Thank you so much for keeping Nick in your prayers. I do so appreciate that.

It's rough for all concerned when you have to make decisions for your parents. Hope all goes well with that and I will send good thoughts your way. Boy, I am with you on the Atlantic storm situation. Also the month of June is tough as storms can just "POP" up in the Gulf of Mexico.

Oh, my - how anxious you must be. Prayers for him, especially, and best wishes to you. How long will he be there? My cousin's son just left for Iraq via some time in Kuwait, and it's worrisome for them, too.

It looks like the time is coming for my mom to head toward assisted living - it's going to be quite a summer, sorting all that business out. I've put a request in to the weather gods to keep the Atlantic storms in the Atlantic, thank you very much. We'll see how much pull I have ;-)

Hey, Linda, good to see you! Yes, I have been to Comfort and lots to see and do. Just haven't gotten out and about there lately. I love the antique shop in the theatre.

This weekend the last of the Granddaughter's volleyball game. I think her Mom and I were ready to be done with the traveling.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sisterdale is wonderful! Some of my friends live in Comfort, so I've been through there a number of times. Have you been over to Comfort yet? Well worth it - there are some great artists there, tucked into corners. And a really cool antique shop in the old theatre.

I need to get up there again - it's been too long!

Hi Linda,

Thanks for stopping by and also for the food court musical. They are pretty neat.

Just got back from the coast and my friends were so happy to get some rain for their pasture. Things had been really dry.

Still have not picked a date to head up North again but it needs to be soon.

And yep, life goes on.

Smiles, indeed! Here's another one for you, that I just can't get enough of and may actually make use of in my own blog. It's just too cool, as they say.

As Ella says, the best part is watching the response of the folks this was "pulled on".

How're things? I'm sure you got some rain out of this last batch, and we've had enough now that everything doesn't look like it's at death's door. I hate to say so, but I'll even sacrifice a bit of work for more rain. Summer and its heat's on the way, and we need it.

Life is same-old, same-old here. Mom turned 91, the work is piled up and I spent all night, every night, either writing or trying to come up with something to write about. In other words - everything's just fine!
