Haven’t blogged much lately. Had an ongoing problem with the hospital and their hired contractors. Finally had to get my attorney to send them a letter but the damage had all ready been done. Needless to say, they had been trespassing and took away all the privacy I had by chopping and trimming back trees, shrubs and vegetation. What arrogant jerks they are.
Drove to Lincoln yesterday for a little shopping and then attended a Husker party. Nebraska football got off to a good start with a win. Hope it continues throughout the season but the Big 12 is tough
The UNL women’s volleyball team (#7) won their first match up against the #2 team. They lost four All American players last year and are having to rebuild their squad.
Well, I have put off closet work as long as I can today so must get at it.
Good morning to you!
Closet work, eh? You and I are on the same track. Since I dragged out a good bit of stuff in the process of deciding what to take on evacuation for Gustav, I’ve determined that I need to clean closets and drawers before putting things back!
I really don’t know how I accumulate so much “stuff”. Part of it is that I’m not good about getting rid of things. “That might be useful, someday” is one of my favorite phrases.
So, today I’ll do a little hard looking at some of this “stuff” and begin deciding whether it needs to go back into the closet, or be moved on to someone else.
I simply can’t believe it’s football time already. I suppose the terrific heat down here is the reason. I still carry enough of that midwestern upbringing with me that football means change of season – at least a LITTLE change!
Enjoy the holiday.
Linda
Hello Linda and thanks for stopping by.
I vow to not make this job difficult for my kids. But will have to finish some of this when I get settled in Texas. I know I will wish I threw more of it out at that time.
Yes, football time again and then, soon for me, the Spurs! My daughter and I are looking forward to those games this season.
Will or are you evacuating? or is it mandatory?
Sharon
Hi, Sharon,
No need to evac. We’ve got cloud cover from Gus now, and the first bands are coming in over Galveston Bay, but it’s placid. I don’t expect much more than maybe 35-40 kt winds at the very outside, and they’re only predicting 25-30.
We’ll have some rain, but most is heading toward Dallas, Lukin, Tyler and so on. We really escaped on this one. I’d made reservations around San Antonio, but cancelled them yesterday afternoon and then bit my fingernails til it was clear it really was going in to LA!
A Spurs fan, huh? Well, bb isn’t my thing, so I’ll not fuss when you play the Rockets if you win all the games!
I’m doing pretty well with the day – worked a bit, and now just piddling around going through boxes and such. Relaxing, actually.
